Hood Boxing Hood boxing is similar to export boxing except there is no wooden base or skid. An item suitable for hood boxing has a very substantial base of its own and the box’s sides and top are carefully assembled and attached to it. Typically, these units have their own crane-lifting points that extend away from the machine structure. These points are left exposed for tie down and lifting use throughout the shipping process. If the lifting points are located inside the perimeter of the machine, hinged doors are placed in the box directly above these points as well as access doors on the side of the box to allow crane operators access to connect lifting slings or cables. |
