Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI)

Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI) materials are available in a number of forms for a wide variety of metal protection from rust or corrosion. VCI films, foams, tablets and shrink wrap have an advantage over contact preservatives or cosmoline in that they do not leave a film that must be removed and sometimes can be hardened into recessed cavities on machinery. VCI products only need to be in close proximity to the item being protected, but are most effective when used as a complete wrap for the area being protected.
